Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka is a native of Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Sergey the father of her (who passed away in 2019) was a professional ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka's career began in Minsk Belarus, on 5 May 1998. Over the course of her career, she's been awarded 12 WTA singles titles. This includes an Australian Open Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. In doubles, she is a great player. She's been a winner of two Majors with Elise Mertens including the US Open in 2019 and the Australian Open in 2021. Together with her fellow Belgian tennis star, she also won the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami in 2019. This year, she was able to complete it the Sunshine Double. Just four couples managed to win this title in women's doubles. In January of 2023 she was ranked the highest in singles. On the 23rd of August 2021, she climbed to the second spot in the list of rankings. After winning the Melbourne doubles championship in February 2021, she was able rise up the rankings and take over the top spot for this particular area. Her coach was the former Russian tennis pro Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until at the end of season of 2019 and also in the first quarter of 2020. There was a brief collaboration with Dieter Kindlmann from August to September of 2020. She has been trained by her father, Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Her top idols include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
